Gab es je "Dan The Gun-Man"?

Irgendwas wie ein Phänomen: seit den 70er-Jahren summe oder singe ich gar bisweilen das Lied von "Dan, The Gun-Man". Jetzt wollte ich mal im Internet was dazu finden aber bis auf einen Typen der sich bei myspace.com so nennt finde ich nichts. Dabei könnte es sogar sein daß die Gruppe auch so hieß, aber da bin ich nicht sicher.

Ich weiß auch etwas aus dem Text, soweit ich es damals verstand:

"He´s alright, but when you start a fight
with Dan The, Dan The Gun-Man..."

Mehr weiß ich nicht, nur daß anschließend öfters mal "Dan! The Gun-Man!" heftig wiederholt wurde. Ich habe alle gängigen Schreibweisen versucht, also auch 'Gunman' und 'Gun Man'.

Daß man zu einem Lied gar nichts findet habe ich noch nicht erlebt, auch wenn der Titel anders lauten würde, man findet doch auch sonst mit Textstellen jedes Lied das es gibt.

Wer kann helfen?

Nebenbei habe ich dabei erfahren daß es 'alright' und nicht 'allright' heißt, man aber auch 'all right' (ältere Version) schreiben kann.

Das ist Stan the Gunman, gesungen von Hank the Knife & The Jets, Nachfolgehit von Guitar King (was mir aber besser gefiel). Wahrscheinlich hast du es mit Dan the Banjo Man verwechselt, ein reines Instrumentalstück. Für mich hat sich das immer angehört, als ob die das Lied gurgeln würden; ich glaube, ich hab mich da selber mal beim morgendlichen Zähneputzen dran versucht.

Oh super, Zazie! Also Stan heißt der. Danke auch für den Text! Hank The Knife auch noch, das sag ich ab und zu wenns um Messer geht. PTS hatte mich per PN schon auf Dan The Banjo-Man hingewiesen, ich glaube das kenne ich auch obwohl mir da immer irgendwas von Cozy Powell reinspukt. Gladys Knight And The Pips gabs auch.
